We offer Trigger Point Dry Needling as one of our manual therapy techniques. In this type of therapy, we utilize needles to treat musculoskeletal and/or myofascial pain by inserting a small needle into tender, irritable spots found in fascia and muscle called “trigger points”.
The trigger points are often found in muscles that cause pain and inflammation. By skillfully inserting small needles into these nodules, we can release the irritated tissue to drastically decrease your suffering from it while improving function immediately.
Dry Needling is NOT acupuncture. Dry needling is a technique used by medical professionals, including physicians and physical therapists, to reduce pain and restore function. The process starts with insertion of the needle through skin, which stimulates healing for underlying tissues (muscles/nerves).
The needles we use during this therapy are referred to as dry needles because they're not being used for injection or medication. These needles are so small, you'll hardly feel them going in your skin and they rarely cause discomfort. Prior to the therapy, we will examine your condition thoroughly to establish the best course of treatment. Dry Needling may cause soreness and mild bruising, but the added benefits are relaxation and increased energy.
Our Trigger Point Dry Needling Services are available in Cumming, GA. We use this technique to help release tight muscles and relieve pain. This is a great physical therapy option to reduce inflammation in the body by freeing up nerves and blood vessels supplying affected muscles or pain points.
